Autumn Across America

Autumn Across America is an internet project designed by New Jersey teacher, Marci McGowan. The objective of this project is to learn the characteristics of fall in different areas of the United States, through the sharing of student work and photographs.

Ohio is beautiful in the fall. The leaves are changing colors, the temperature cools, and students enjoy picking apples and pumpkins at nearby farms. We completed a variety of activities related to fall. Below you can get a glimpse of a few of our special activities.

Sensory Poetry:

What are the signs of fall in our area?

I see colors.

I hear leaves crunching.

I smell pumpkin pie.

I feel cold wind.

I taste candy.

By Mrs. Langston's Class

I see spooky pumpkins.

I hear wind.

I smell delicious food.

I feel my bike.

I taste caramel apples.

By Vinny

I see nuts.

I hear wind.

I smell bark.

I feel cold wind.

I taste candy.

By Tommy

I see colors.

I hear spooky noises.

I smell pie.

I feel a spooky feeling.

I taste candy.

By Harrison

I see pumpkins.

I hear leaves crunching.

I smell wet leaves.

I feel happy.

I taste sweet potatoes.

We read Fall Leaves Fall, By Zoe Hall
We sorted leaves by color. Then, we graphed the leaves by color!
