Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year!!

Dear First Grade Parents,

My name is Shannon Langston and I’m very excited to welcome you to our first grade classroom. It is my pleasure to introduce myself as your child’s first grade teacher for the 2011-2012 school year. I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful summer. I’m also hoping that you and your child are as ready for the school year to begin as I am. Big dates are just around the corner with our “Meet the Teacher” open house scheduled for August 24th, and then our first day of school being the next day on August 25th.

My teaching style is very child-focused and high energy. We will learn a lot in our first grade year, and we will have a lot of fun throughout our journey. As a district, we’ve implemented some very exciting curriculum changes throughout the last couple of years. I look forward to being able to detail our curriculum at our first grade open house night on Thursday September 1st. Please try to make arrangements to attend that event, as I will be passing out important items, as well as walking everyone through our classroom plans, community, and events.
